Winter X Games 2012 Slopestyle Course

It’s that time of the year again. Everyone that is something in snowboarding or freeskiing is flocking to Aspen, Colorado for the yearly X Games (26 to 29 January). It’s the most prestigious competition you can win in skiing and snowboarding. Period. The athletes are hungry and as always very excited to see the slopestyle course.

Slopestyle is just one of many disciplines at Winter X Games 2012. Big Air and SuperPipe are the two other major desciplines.

Meet the guy who shapes Snowpark Val Thorens

Val Thorens is a popular ski resort in the huge 3 Vallees area in France. The whole area offers an incredible 600 KM of interconnected slopes and 180 ski lifts. Wow!
The local snowpark in Val Thorens has grown a lot in recent years and is now right up there with the best parks in France. We got the chance to hear more about the park straight from the source. French shaper Romain Dujean is part of the team that designs, builds, and maintains the park. He lets us in on what Snowpark Val Thorens is all about and what it takes to be a park shaper. Imagine waking up every day just to go up to the snowpark and hang out all day. Sounds like a dream job, right?
